"On a sunny afternoon, we set off with Youssef. Our wish: a nice walk through neighborhoods unknown to us. We were with our 17-year-old son and wanted it to be genuinely fun and interesting for him too. So we asked for trendy spots, good food, and some street art. And that is exactly what we got. From the tastiest koshari to a newly opened shop. And from an old pharmacy to hibiscus tea. And all this while Youssef guided us through the busy traffic. And we were having a pleasant conversations. "Nesreen was fantastic. She was very open, friendly and knowledgeable and felt comfortable with her immediately. She made our Old Cairo walking tour interesting and enjoyable. We particularly liked how friendly and respectful she was with the locals, treating them all like old friends. She was also very kind and caring with us. My husband wasn't feeling well at one stage during the tour so she sat us down in a Cafe and went to a local pharmacy to get him some medicine. We were very grateful for this and felt very safe in her hands. "Spending a day with Youssef was a highlight of my trip to Cairo. It can be hard to connect with daily life and local experiences in such a large city, but Youssef's tour provided exactly that. We explored shady cafe lined side streets, historic buildings, bustling markets and had tea at a local hang out. I met local shop owners and street vendors. We hopped in a tuk tuk taxi to travel through a super busy section of the city and it was so fun. When booking the tour I mentioned that I love fabrics and textiles. He took me to the special market that sells fabrics - miles of bustling side streets with hundreds of vendors selling every color and type of fabric you can imagine. I would never have experienced this on my own and I loved it. The hand stitched tapestries were beautiful. "We had the best 10 tastings tour with Youssef. His communication prior to the tour was great. We meet with our friends and he was warm and engaging from the start. Not only did he curate some great places for us to taste the local food, we also stopped at some places in Cairo we would never have seen. Covering a bit of history, seeing some great architecture and some other cute places that I won’t mention so I don’t spoil it for the next person.
