"Unfortunately, John was having some health issues and he had is friend Makara provide the tour instead. This was not an issue. Makara was wonderful. The tour started early, which allowed us to have front row seats to a beautiful sunrise over Angkor Wat. After seeing the Angkor Wat complex, Makara took us to different temple complexes that were not crowded. He provided insightful history about each of our visits. Riding around the complex in a jeep was a great, efficient way to see the complex. I would recommend this tour!"

"5 am and John arrived at our hotel to collect us the tour of the Ankor Wat site. The thing we love about withlocal tours ( we've done 8 on this trip) is that you get that small,personal and local experience. John has grown up around Siem Riep and has studies intensively the history and layout of the enormous Ankor site. Using this knowledge he was able to select 3 key tomb sites for us to visit . He also guided us around the large groups with their flag and microphone to personally talk us through the stories related to each site . He has a huge knowledge of the history and can even explain the stories on the large wall murals in great detail . It is also his flexibility that makes a great tour - recognising when we were struggling in the heat , slowing the pace and always on hand with ice cold towels and water when the driver returned to collect us in the jeep.
