It was a hot day but Bruges was beautiful and after a few minutes in the regular tourist frequented area, Hugo took us to the historic parts of Bruges normally not visited by tourists and regaled us with some gems of Bruges history. The canalized river flows in and out of the city like long fingers, houses, restaurants and hotels hugging her sides. Hugo was kind enough to let us take a break at the oldest cafe in Bruges, far from the madding crowd! He is a veritable font of knowledge and I’m thrilled I chose him for our tour. "
