This tour starts with some of the best-known legends. Dan Brown was not the first one to write his thrillers about magical bloodlines and the Holy Grail. Maybe it is even in Vienna???

As you stroll through downtown, you'll find hidden symbols and undeciphered writings, mysterious but fascinating. We also have haunted houses in Vienna, and we have the stories of the Freemasons—the world hidden beneath the surface of beautiful Vienna. It is no wonder why Sigmund Freud was Viennese!

We start our walking tour at Minoritenplatz (exit U3 station Herrengasse, Minoritenplatz), where a fabulous copy of Da Vinci's Last Supper can be studied in detail. How about a vampire story around the church square? Or have you ever heard of the brave scientists who called themselves alchemists and wanted to create a homunculus, a living human-like creature? I have these stories as well as some haunted houses around. What do pyramid inscriptions in Latin and another strange language that first had to be deciphered tell us? Signs are all over the place, but they have to be read. I will show you the headquarters of the Freemasons lodge, point out some astonishing details around St. Stephen's Cathedral, and visit places that might be connected to the Templar Knights. Maybe we will also see the famous White Lady, the most prominent ghost in Vienna. The tour will end with a spooky visit to the catacombs under St. Stephen's Cathedral.
