I'm an archeologist, and I want to share my knowledge and passion with you on a private tour through the Archeological Museum in Naples. A visit to this museum is a must if you want a "complete" Pompeii and Herculaneum experience.
Inside the museum, the collections show you items discovered during the official excavations of these ancient cities. From frescoes, mosaics, objects from private houses, medical instruments, statues and more. Check them out and hear interesting facts and stories behind, and please, ask away! I can help create a better image in your head, and you'll see how life used to be in a typical Roman colony.
This museum is famous because of the Vesuvian collection, but, as you will see, there are other two sections you should visit: the Farnese collection, with a lot of statues from Rome, and the Egyptian collection, open to the public since last year after the restorations. Let's check them out together!

Statues, full of statues! They come from Rome, copies of statues made by Greeks, representing emperors, myths and gods, like the famous Hercules, symbol of the museum. They are in Naples and not in Rome because....follow me and I will tell you!
