Here’s an overview of your activity

Once in Spain, your local experience won't be complete until you give Flamenco dance a try! Join me and get a glimpse into the beautiful folk art of Flamenco - one of the most impressive expressions of Spanish culture and learn the basic steps to this traditional dance.

The workshop consists of two parts: the first part will explore the basics of "zapateado" (footwork) with some simple rhythm exercises. In the second part, you will learn the first Sevillana dance, and for the lady dancers (known as "bailaoras") you will be provided with a real flamenco dress during the class so you can feel like a real Spanish dancer. A perfect compliment to make the local experience even better!

This classic dance style is a combination of dance steps with the Andalusian folklore, traditional songs, and instruments of Mozarabic origin. Instruments like tambourines, finger cymbals known as 'Castanets', and other tuneful musical instruments are also an integral part of the dance form. This dance is also greatly influenced by the Moroccan 'Shikhat' and other African dance forms. And I will explain all about its history & cultural meaning more in-depth after your class while you unwind with a nice glass of homemade sangria.

Get ready to dance your night away and experience first hand how beautiful the traditonal Flamenco dance is!

Let me know how I can make this experience better for you. Any requests? I can help you!
