Here’s an overview of your tour

Embark on a captivating journey with me as we delve into the rich history of the Jewish community that thrived in Girona for an astounding six centuries, encapsulated within the confines of the renowned Jewish Quarter, or "Call."

During this enlightening tour, you'll unravel the mysteries of where Jewish people resided, the intricacies of their daily life, and even discover the locations of the three medieval synagogues, among other fascinating insights.

In Girona, the illustrious Rabbi and Kabbalist Nahmanides, known as the Ramban, both resided and practiced medicine.

Girona holds the esteemed title of being the "mother city of Israel" and was a pivotal hub of spiritual knowledge intricately linked with the Kabbalah school.

Our journey will lead us to the Museum of Jewish History, home to the most significant collection of Hebrew tombstones in all of Spain. Additionally, you'll be astounded by the last mikveh (ritual bath) of the Gironian Jewish community, which remained in use until the expulsion in 1492, and was uncovered a mere nine years ago.

As a certified Sefarad Rasgo and Jewish expert guide, I am deeply passionate about sharing my extensive knowledge of Girona's Jewish heritage with my guests.
