Here’s an overview of your tour

Kanazawa is renowned for its rich craft heritage due to several historical, cultural, and geographical factors that have shaped its development as a center for traditional Japanese arts and crafts.

Being a creative person myself, I'm looking forward to sharing my passion for crafts with you and taking you mainly off the beaten paths to selected places in Kanazawa.

During this immersive tour, we will visit several artisan shops producing and selling high quality local crafts. Strolling through the historic Higashi Chaya District, renowned for its beautifully preserved tea houses and gold leaf artistry, we'll explore the world of Matcha Tea with its specific "Ohi-ware" pottery and "Wagashi" sweets. We will learn what makes the "Kaga Yuzen" silk dyeing procedure so special and explore some hidden places.

"Crafting Tradition: An Immersive Artisans Tour of Kanazawa" is a journey through time and art, offering a deep appreciation for the skills and dedication of Kanazawa's master craftsmen. Join us for a day of artistic discovery, and if you wish, customize it with hands-on experiences like Kintsugi, Gold leaf application, Textile dying, pottery, Mizuhiki....
