Here’s an overview of your tour

At the indicated time, we'll start this night tour of Catania from the central Piazza Vincenzo Bellini, where we'll admire the illumination of the iconic Teatro Massimo Bellini. Did you know that it's one of the reference centres for culture in Sicily?

After learning about the history of this temple of opera, we'll take a stroll through the San Berillo neighbourhood. We'll wander through its picturesque narrow streets, whose particular charm is even more attractive under the moonlight. We'll also see different urban murals, on which the artists have painted colourful and expressive graffiti.

Next, we'll walk along the emblematic Via Gemellaro and admire the illuminated façade of the Monte Sant'Agata bank. We'll also walk along Via dei Crociferi, an authentic open-air museum, as it's a street that houses dozens of architectural gems of the Sicilian Baroque.

The next stop will be in front of the Roman Amphitheatre of Catania, one of the largest in Sicily. We'll also stop in front of Castello Ursino, which was one of the few monuments in the city that withstood the earthquake of 1693.

Finally, after 3 hours tour, we'll cross Fish Market area, and we'll say goodbye in Piazza Duomo.

Considered as a "black colosseum", this amphitheate is really peculiar becuase it developes for the most underneath, and I explain you why!
  • Crociferi Street

Probably the most beautiful street in Catania city center. It's a street that houses dozens of architectural gems of the Sicilian Baroque. In less than 200 meters, there are 4 churches and 2 monasteries!
  • Ursino Castle

One of the few medieval rests in Catania who had survived to the earthquake of 1693. This castle survived also to the terrific eruption in 1669, and I'll show apart of the lava which is still around the monument

Probabley one of the most popular areas in catania, both in the morning and by night. We'll cross it by night, when these streets are populated with lot of life!
